A Monday Braid

Happy Monday, friends! It's Joni here, in total disbelief that it's almost the end of November. *sniff sniff* So I'm celebrating with one of Krista's new images, colored up in Fall tones.
Here's Braid {one of three digis in a set}:

She has the sweetest hairdo, doesn't she? I'm sure her personality changes with different hues, I can't wait to see what you all do with this image! I colored her up with fall-ish copics, added white dots with an Inkessential gel pen, then paired her with Recollections papers from Michaels.

You can find Braid (who was just released!) at Krista's shop along with the other dozens of beautiful Saturated Canary digis. 'Tis the season to spoil yourself! *wink wink*
Thank you for stopping by to see me, have a beautiful start to your week, everyone!

Transfer your image to wood tutorial!

Hello there my crafty peeps! It's Mindy here. Today I wanted to share a project I've been wanting to try for a while now. I had seen a tutorial on pinterest, transferring laser printed photos on wood. I thought, well I can do that with a laser printed digi stamp and then COLOR on the wood. This is such a great idea and so much fun to color on wood. Just think of all those adorable wooden ornaments in the dollar bin at Michaels. You can have tons of little ornaments to give away as gifts or have yourself a little Saturated Canary Christmas! :)

Ok, ok, you are probably like, Mindy.. get to the point.. how do I TRANSFER the image?!?!

First thing is first, you MUST print using a Laser print printer. I used the Saturated Canary Image, Christmas Attire because I LOVE her!
Next, you are going to trim your paper so you can see where you are placing your image.
Then take a strip of tape and tape the edge of the paper to the wood to keep it in place. You only need to tape one side, this way when you lift the paper to see the transfer, once you place the paper down to continue transferring it will go in the same spot.
Then - IRON the image! Set your iron to the highest setting and iron back and forth. You don't want to leave it setting there for too long, it will burn the paper.

That's all.. then color.

So simple and such a fun and different technique. It's the only thing, you'll find me ironing!

Well, I hope you like my project today.
You can visit me over on My Creative Scoop for more crafts, recipes and creativity!

Mother Mary

Happy Friday, everyone! :) It's Joni here, sharing a couple makes made with the beautiful Mother Mary. She seems to be a new DT favorite with the holidays quickly approaching! I always love trying out different color schemes with Saturated Canary images, just to show how brilliant Krista is as a designer.

First up is a black and white card that I made with a pop of yellow:

And here is one that I made with a more colorful palette, inspired by the Altitude paper collection {Bo Bunny}:

I just adore the way Krista's images come to life, no matter what your style or color preferences are! Thank you for stopping by the blog today, be sure to spoil yourself at the Saturated Canary shop and visit on Facebook to share your lovely samples. Have a beautiful day everyone, and a wonderful weekend! <3

Mother Mary & The King

Hi everyone! This is DT Yani here with another inspiration post today...

This beautiful stamp is called Mother Mary...

And it is one of the newest Christmas stamps by Saturated Canary. You can find it here!

It was colored with Prismacolor Pencils and mineral spirits.

This other stamp is called The King and you can find it here! To color this image I used Prismacolor Pencils only. As you can see, both techniques give different results. It all depends on your mood and on what you're trying to achieve ;)

All papers used here are by Maja Design. I distressed all borders with Walnut Stain and did some machine stitching too. Heart diecuts are by Magnolia and the wreath diecut is by Memory Box. The wooden phrase and poinsettia were a gift by one of my dear friends.

Thanks for stopping by! ~xoxo~
